As part of its new Next Gen series, CO.AS.IT.’s Cultural Program has organised its first ever photography competition & exhibition for students from Prep to Year 12, and St Ignatius students are taking part!

Photographers aged 5-18 delved into the theme of Italy and all things Italian. The photos they produced and that you can see on display feature an insight into Italy, Italian culture and Italian-Australian culture through young eyes, featuring themes such as food, family and landscapes.

From 14 May to 29 June, these 32 photos from students from prep to year 11 can be seen at CO.AS.IT. Museo Italiano (open Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pm and Saturday 1pm-5pm)

The exhibition also forms the platform for the photography competition, where the public can vote for their favourites in Primary and Secondary categories. Voting closes on the 29 June and results of the public voting will determine winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.

Visit the link above to view and vote for Ruby Russell’s photo ‘Gelato Work!’ and William Boyd’s photo ‘Class Italia’. Both Y7 Wilding and Y8 Butler put their minds together to come up with the ideas presented in the photos, where the students make the shape of a gelato and the word ‘Italia’ by lying on the grass. Vote now!
